MTS to operate as Vodafone in Ukraine

Mobile operator MTS Ukraine and Vodafone Group plc (UK) reached an agreement on cooperation in provide services under this brand. This is stated in the press release of MTS Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to MTS.

“Launch of 3G services under the Vodafone brand in Ukraine is about to start and will include a gradual transition to the new brand’s own stores and most of the MTS dealer outlets. Vodafone brand will not be used in the territories in the east, not controlled by Ukrainian authorities. As part of a new strategic partnership Vodafone will provide new opportunities for the Ukrainian market and offer to Ukrainian clients new advantageous offers with Vodafone for calls in roaming and in international directions,” – said the press release.

In September 2015 a spokesman for the British press operator Ben Padovan said that the company is in the early stage of discussion of further cooperation. He recalled that MTS Ukraine is a partner of Vodafone since 2008, when the company established the strategic partnership.
