Kyiv launches new trams

Kyiv launches new trams, made by Lviv “Electron” corporation, which has air conditioning system, low floor level and adapted for disabled passengers

The first tram, made by Lviv “Electron” corporation, arrived in Kyiv. This was announced by former deputy minister of infrastructure Oleksandr Kava.

The new tram is equipped with ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems, low floor level and adapted for disabled passengers. The vehicle is 30 meters long and has a capacity up to 287 people. The cabin is made of anti-corrosion and fire-resistant materials, Joinfo.ua reports.

On October 12 Communal Enterprise “Kyivpastrans” signed a contract with “Electron” corporation for production of trams for 7,2 million UAH by the results of the tender.

It should be recalled that recently, “Electron” corporation made an electric bus for Lviv public transportation. Electrobus is a completely low-floor 12-meter long vehicle and can carry up to 100 passengers at a time. It has maximum speed of 70 km per hour, and up to 200 km range on a single charge.
