The World Steel Association (Worldsteel) reported that, according to the results of the metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine, they produced 2.055 million tons (Mt) of crude steel in October, up by 6.4% compared to the same month 2014. As a result, Ukraine has moved up from 11th to the 10th place in the ranking of the world’s leading manufacturers of crude steel.
Overall, at the end of October this year, the leaders of the rating were three Asian countries: China with 66.1 Mt, Japan – 9 Mt, India – 7.5 Mt.
Next in the ranking are the United States – 6.7 Mt, South Korea – 5.8 Mt, Russia – 5.7 Mt, Germany – 3.6 Mt, Brazil – 3 Mt, Turkey – 2.8 Mt and Ukraine – 2 Mt.
World crude steel production for the 66 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 134 Mt in October 2015, a -3.1% decrease compared to October 2014.
