“Today from the Ilyichivsk sea port the first experimental container train leaves by the route Ukraine-Georgia-Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-China. It will become the new direction of the Silk Road and alternative route for delivery of freights from Ukraine to these markets bypassing the territory of Russia,” – PM of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk wrote on his Facebook page, Joinfo.ua reports.
“Russian transit and trade embargo will not prevent the transportation of our goods to the markets of Central Asia”, – said Yatsenyuk.
It should be recalled that the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine and PJSC Ukrzaliznytsa in cooperation with the Coordinating Committee of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route made a significant and hard work in 2015 to organize the route of the train, because Russia fully halted the transit of goods from Ukraine through its territory from January 4, 2016.
