On 9 June 2016 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in collaboration with the international business accelerator BUSINESS SHARKS conducted the first Ukrainian Innovation Expo 2016, a presentation of Ukrainian innovative solutions at the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports.
The event was opened by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs V.V. Prystayko, with following speeches of Deputy Ministers of the Ministry of Education and Science and Ministry of Agrarian Policy, Head of the Council of Exporters and Importers of Ukraine O.I. Danileyko and Director of Business Sharks Vlad Kotov.
The prototypes presented at the event offer solutions for areas including hi-tech education, safety of dwellings and cars, health care, agriculture and clean energy. Potential investors discussed the projects and tested the prototypes during the Start-up Alley. Embassies, businesses, chambers of commerce and government officials participated at the event. Ukrainians were especially pleased to see trade representatives of the Embassy of Canada in Ukraine whose clothes represented the colors of Ukrainian flag.
UkraineIs and Joinfo took part in the event. Sergiy Vakarin is an inventor himself and helps others improve their inventions. Recently he has worked with Konstantin Ryaboshapka to improve his AutoFace collective security system, a patented invention that significantly improves collective safety of cars in each location where it is used. Konstantin Ryaboshapka and Sergiy Vakarin presented AutoFace at the Ukrainian Innovation Expo 2016.

What are the benefits of AutoFace?
In our days, usual alarm in many cases does not save our cars from theft, penetration or damage. AutoFace provides a more effective method of crime prevention and detection, which is beneficial to car owners, inspectors and automobile companies.
One more bonus is easier overtaking on a highway: the system switches to the 130° wide view mode so that you can fully assess the situation before overtaking.
You have announced that AutoFace is a collective security system. Does it make roads safer?
With AutoFace, it becomes de facto impossible to commit a crime with or near a car and remain undetected. When an accident or emergency situation occurs, it becomes very simple to find the guilty party. When an accident alert is coming, an inspector, while en route to the location, can enter coordinates/time and immediately receive the accident data. Also, running away after the accident is pointless since the inspector can trace the offender’s route.
AutoFace will put an end to fake accidents with all subsequent litigation. All details will be clearly seen on each side of the car. This significantly simplifies the work of traffic police inspectors and reduces bribery.
But sometimes, even with a car equipped with a video recorder, it is unclear what exactly happened. Is AutoFace any better?
AutoFace is designed as a network of AutoFace devices installed on many cars. In a virtual garage mode, any AutoFace user can remotely see what is happening around the car. As a result, cars equipped with AutoFace can see one another and the situation around. You can access the information from other devices in the AutoFace network to see how unlawful acts were committed.
When Alarm signal is coming from AutoFace, the car owner can request information from the cloud about cars within a radius of 1-3 km from the location (the range may vary). The information will be provided in the form of a map, on which devices equipped with AutoFace will be marked with red dots. Data provided via the AutoFace network is anonymous. While viewing a particular video, you can use the digital zoom. In the case when the car leaves the Wi-Fi coverage area or electronic signal gets suppressed, the owner receives an alarm signal on their smartphone.
How do you handle the videos recorded by AutoFace?
When the car is in the city, the system continuously records everything that happens around. When the car is parked (or left at any place where there is a WiFi network), AutoFace is connected to a Wi-Fi transmitter via AutoFace app on a mobile device. After you click the “Security” button in the app the car will start sending via Wi-Fi all the data recorded during the day to the user’s PC or the cloud. In order not to overload the cloud, the information is stored there for 24 hours and then is automatically deleted. Simultaneously, the car is placed in a virtual garage. The data communication method may be from 3G to 5G etc.
After data transfer to the cloud, it is completely depersonalized. Data cannot be forged as the data flow is coming from multiple sources. Surrounding cars can give different perspectives of the same event.
How can I install your equipment?
At the request of the owner, AutoFace can be integrated in the mirrors and the pillars. Two cameras are installed on each side of the exterior of the car. The cameras are equipped with infrared illumination for improved night vision.They can be attached by means of special fasteners which do not require mechanical influences on the car itself. Screens are mounted on the pillars with special covers and become an almost invisible part of the designAutoFace does not modify the electronics of the car or the alarm system. This approach helps avoid outside interference in the electronics of the car, which impoves its safety.
Who would pay for its installation?
This is what Canadian Embassy representatives asked us about. At the initial stage, AutoFace would cost about $5 per month to the car owners. At the same time, AutoFace allows to partially abandon the services of insurance companies. You would not need to insure against theft or damage (and then sometimes wait for years to receive compensation). This explains why large automobile producers will make AutoFace a regular part of car design at no extra cost for the final consumer, as the resulting safety and economy gives a competitive edge to the producer.
