A Brother for a Brother is a life principle of Peder and Steen Mondrup. The twins became famous thanks to the fact that Peder was the first person in the world with cerebral palsy, who won the international Ironman Triathlon Competition, held in Copenhagen. He managed to do it thanks to the efforts of Steen, with whom he crossed the finish line.

Peder and Steen overcame the distance together: 2.4 miles by swimming, 112 miles by bike and 26.2 miles by running on the road. The brother was carrying Peder on an inflatable raft, in a bike chair, and on a special stroller. The sportsmen showed the record time – 15 hours 32 minutes and 48 seconds. Amidst the bright lights and loud cheers of spectators, they crossed the finish line around midnight on August 24.

The twins call their duet Team Tvilling. There boys were born premature weighing only 2.6 pounds in 1980. Peder suffered a lack of oxygen, that caused a severe cerebral palsy. Since birth, Peder is confined to a wheelchair; he had no chance of recovery. Despite this, Steen attached him to the sport, and together they participated in various competitions and marathons, Ironman was the culmination of the brothers" career.

Peder says that during the race he felt like a real competitor, not a "spectator in a wheelchair". Steen says that he is ready to make every effort for his brother to feel like a physically complete man even for a few hours. He admits that thanks to Peder he learned to feel happy and to disregard the household stuff, as Peder never spared himself.

In the sports duet, many say that Steen got "the legs", and Peder got "the brains". They dream to give other disable people the opportunity to participate in sports, to feel the joy of victory and the excitement of competition. They have initiated a non-profit Team Twin Association. In 2015, it is planned to conduct the first training camp for disable people.
