The bosses of the Manchester United want to include the Spaniard in the deal for Kevin Strootman, attacking midfielder of the Italian Roma. Soon the representatives of the clubs have to come to the negotiating table and offer each other their own options of the transaction.
It's been suggested that the forward, who only joined the club from rivals Chelsea in January for £37.1 million, could be sold to Italian giants Juventus for £30 million in the winter transfer window.
“He has done well, Mata, when he has played in central areas and his goalscoring record is good,” says the former Manchester United defender Gary Neville. “But I always wondered whether he has a long-term future at United.”
