UEFA punished Serbia and Albania for fight and quadcopter in the stadium

To the last, fans and journalists were guessing which team would be punished for the match obstruction in Belgrade. UEFA punished everyone.

Albanians have been handed forfeit defeat, Serbia loses three points and will hold two matches without spectators. In addition, both federations will pay a fine of 100 thousand euros.

Earlier, Serbian media reported that UEFA would announce the replay on a neutral field. And fans were already to fight with each other, in the stadium, or outside it. But UEFA decided not to take risks.

It should be recalled the events developed at the previous meeting: during the game on the field, there appeared a quadcopter with a banner attached to it by ropes. They say that the device was ran by the son of the Albanian prime minister, right from the VIP box.

The banner showed a map of so-called Greater Albania, which includes a part of the Serbian territory. A fight broke out on the field, joined by the Serbian fans. Referees stopped the match.

Later football experts rebelled – usually UEFA spreads conflicting countries. Such countries like Russia and Georgia, Russia and Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Armenia, Gibraltar and Spain can not play with each other. But they have forgotten about Serbia and Albania.

It is possible that this decision will not end the story of UEFA. Football Association of Albania intends to appeal. They believe their punishment is not justified.

Surely, Serbs will react too. And this whole situation will long hang over the heads of the European football officials.
