The movie will be based on the story "David: the Divided Heart", written by Rabbi from Los Angeles David Wolpe. The film will be shot together with Gulfstream Pictures. "David is the most complex hero and anti-hero in the Bible," Wolpe told Variety. "He's a man who was a warrior, a prodigy, a poet, a king who united the nation and a man close to God who sins. I cannot imagine a more cinematic figure from the Bible," commented the author of the movie. The timeframe of work on the movie is not specified.
It is to be recalled that it is not the only project being prepared in the bowels of Hollywood dedicated to David. Previously, FOX representatives and Ridley Scott were saying about the intention to make a film on this topic. It was assumed that this film would show the story of the Jewish king after his victory over Goliath.
As for Ridley Scott, the British director will release a film about another popular biblical character – Moses in December 2014. The Premiere of "Exodus: Kings and Gods" will be held December 12, 2014.
