Katy Perry is one of the biggest pop stars in the world, whose chalked up Grammys, BRITs, and a plethora of number one albums across the globe. And now she can add the vaunted honor of playing the most famous music festival in the world to her trophy cabinet, as on Thursday it was announced she’s playing Glastonbury 2016, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Mirror.
Following the official announcement the 32-year-old Dark Horse siren took to social media to express her excitement at being given a place at the top of the bill.
Due to rub shoulders with the likes of Radiohead, Ed Sheeran and Foo Fighters, it would seem that the pop star is already casting her mind forward to June.
Taking to her social media accounts, Katy announced the news to her millions of follower excitedly – though it would seem there’s one aspect to the festival that she’s been made very aware of.
Tweeting an announcement to her own 96.7million followers, she excitedly joked: “I can has tea and crumpets?!”

Clearly undeterred by the thought of slogging around in shin deep mud and driving rain (if the weather takes a turn for the worse this year), she captioned her Instagram announcement: “Can’t wait to see you and hopefully catch a cold lol.”

Katy is familiar with the UK festival circuit having played both V Festival and T In The Park, though at 177,000 capacity Glastonbury is the biggest in terms of crowd.
Katy, of course, is not the only chart-topping global force to be signed up for this year’s festival, as Radiohead, Foo Fighters and Ed Sheeran are all set to headline.
Also on the bill are the likes of: The XX, The National, Biffy Clyro, Barry Gibb, Royal Blood, Stormzy , Chic, and Major Lazer.
Glastobury Festival will take place at Worthy Farm, Pilton, Somerset from June 21 – 25.
