A monument to “Polite people” will erect in Simferopol, Crimea for the next anniversary of the “Crimean Spring”. The head of the city administration Gennady Baharev said it at a press conference, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to Allcrimea.
He recalled that the local authorities have announced an open competition for the best design of the monument to “Polite people”. The dead line for Applications is November 20.
“At the moment, four applications have been filed for the competition. If we talk about the geography of the participants, it is Krasnodar, Omsk, St. Petersburg, and, of course, Crimea “, – said Baharev.
He added that the authorities are currently considering three options for the location of the monument: the Republic Square, the intersection of Pushkin Street and Karl Marx, as well as the intersection of Kirov and Karl Marx.
“But still the preferred option is the Square of the Republic, because this place is really a landmark, where all the most important events took place then, in 2014,” – said the head of administration.
The project will cost 2 million rubles, which is expected to be funded of donations.
“If we suddenly did not collect the required amount, then we will fund it by sponsors, developers – they have already agreed”, – concluded Baharev.
The winner will be anoounced by December 15.
