Ukrainian President: Peace and restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty essential for Donbas revival
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko visited the city of Mykolaivka in the Donetsk region, destroyed by terrorists in July 2014, and examined the results of houses restoration

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko visited the Ukraine-controlled territory of Donetsk region on Monday, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Presidential press service.

“It is a big happiness to open a restored house. The whole world saw the main priorities of the Ukrainian authorities – peaceful life in Donbas. This house is a symbol of restoration and revival of Donbas. My main goal is peace,” Ukrainian President said.

President Poroshenko underlined the necessity of immediate withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied territories.

He also added that regional and local administrations received UAH 2.5 billion for the restoration of peaceful life.

The President stands for the creation of a donor fund for the restoration of Donbas and assistance to people affected by the war. As a result of hostilities in Donetsk region, almost 8.5 thousand houses have been destroyed and 11.5 thousand people have lost their home.

For today, all educational facilities damaged by the shelling have also been reconstructed.
