Ukrainian President established Chornobyl Radiation and Environmental Biosphere Reserve

On April 26, the 30th anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed the Decree on the Establishment of the Chornobyl Radiation and Environmental Biosphere Reserve.

The newly established Biosphere Reserve will become one of the largest environmental institutions of Ukraine. It is located on the territory of Ivankov and Polissia districts of Kyiv region within the exclusion zone and zone of unconditional (obligatory) resettlement.

The establishment of the Chornobyl Radiation and Environmental Biosphere Reserve has become the first important step in the revival of territories contaminated by the man-made disaster.

It should be recalled that today Ukrainian President has visited the exclusion zone and the Chornobyl NPP.
