‘Ugly’ Romeo found home with shelter employee

'Ugly' Romeo found home with shelter employee
The kitten was found almost dead in the street and given to an animal shelter in Spain. As no one has picked him up, one of the staff adopted Romeo herself. And now he's a star

This is Romeo, a cuddly, sweet, affectionate kitten … and so “ugly” that nobody wanted him, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Ad.nl.

Romeo and his siblings were left on the street and the Spanish animal shelter ‘Santuario Compasión Animal’ rescued the kittens. But while all his brothers and sisters found a new home soon, Romeo was left alone in the shelter. The deformity to his eye and nose clearly stood in the way.

So, Laura Llacer, the shelter employee, decided not to leave Romeo to his fate. She adopted him and now the kitten is shelter’s favorite.

“He demands all volunteers’ attention,” says Laura.

Now Romeo’s story is known all around the world. “No one wanted to take him home because they found him ugly, and now people write to us from all over the world asking about him. We hope his story will help to put an end to prejudice,” Laura said.
