Amsterdam zoo welcomes newborn giraffe
On Monday November 7, a reticulated giraffe gave birth to her first baby in the Amsterdam Artis zoo.

The delivery went smoothly in about three hours. The newborn calf fell down, landed on its side and quickly tried to stand up, Joinfo.com reports with reference to De Telegraaf.

The young giraffe will soon be presented to the public for the first time.

Artis zoo has participated in the European breeding program for giraffes since 1856. Along with the newborn, the zoo has now ten giraffes.
