The first X1 class solar flare was recorded on October 25 at 9:08 pm by Moscow time. The second flare of X2 class was recorded the day before at 1:57 pm by Moscow time.
The flares were caused by active AR 2192 sunspot, which, according to scholars' estimations, became the largest one within the last 25 years. Previously she has induced powerful flares.
It is noted that the AR 2192 sunspot passed geoeffective position, so we can expect that the flares will not much affect the planet. AR 2192 is now slowly coming to the edge of the Sun and will disappear from sight.
It is to be recalled that depending on the power of X-rays, solar flares are divided into five classes: A, B, C, M and X. Each subsequent letter represents an increase of solar "explosion" power by ten times.
