Scientists found brain region responsible for belief in ghosts

A collaborative group of researchers from several countries figured out how exactly the belief in ghosts is explained when they were conducted the experiments related to the functioning of the human brain regions responsible for determining the position of the body in space, reports joinfo.ua.

So, the blindfolded volunteers sent signals stimulating precisely that region of their brain that was supposed to determine where a person is exactly. As a result, some of the participants of the experiment said that they felt the presence of strangers in the room.

The researchers tend to explain such feelings as a kind of "spatial illusion". Human brain incorrectly identifies its feelings and do not associate itself with a particular position of the body in space, creating a "phantom".

Earlier it was reported that there is composed the rating of the most feared ghosts.
