Performing humanoid physical functions in modern robotics is one of the leading directions. Only a few models can fold and unfold their "joints" as humans do.

Now there is a new device among these robots. The engineers from the Institute for Human and Machine learning (USA) have designed Atlas robot, which, according to its developers, will be able to learn karate.

As it can be seen in the video, the robot does not master jumping technique and blows of the Japanese martial art yet, but the experts of the Institute continue to work on improving the functionality of the model. Given the fact that Atlas is 188 cm high and is weighing 150 kg, it will be hard to do it, but its ability to maintain equilibrium is already very progressive.
