Kickstarter crowdfunding platform collects money for 3D camera for smartphones

The project of Bevel 3D-camera for smartphones has collected the necessary amount for its mass production 16 days before the end of the crowdfunding campaign.

“Photos are good. Videos are great. But there are timeswhen existing photography just can’t say what you needed to say. When two dimensions are not enough. When a photograph just doesn’t tell the whole picture. It’s time to move from 2D to 3D, ” tells Drew Cox, the CEO and founder of Matter and Form.

The gadget is a plug with an eye safe laser that attaches to your smartphone through the headphone jack. The camera scans objects in the three-dimensional space and produces high-frequency shooting by fixing the laser on the object. After processing the data the program creates a 3D-model. Currently the tool works both with iOS and Android platforms.

At the moment, the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform has collected $ 212 thousand.
