U.S. President Barack Obama believes that the former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton can be a great president of the country.
He stated it in an interview for ABC.
According to Obama, he regularly communicates with her and is friends with her. "She's not going to agree with me on everything. One of the benefits of running for president is you can stake out your own positions, and have a clean slate, a fresh start," said the president.
The U.S. leader said that he was very interested in the next president being the representative of his Democratic Party. "So I'm going to do everything I can to ensure the success of the candidate," he said.
However, the President suggested that his role in the next election campaign would not have much impact. "I think the American people, you know, they're gonna want, you know, that new car smell. They want to drive something off the lot that doesn't have as much mileage as me," he added.
Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States in early 2009. He was re-elected for the second term in 2012. His presidential power expires at the beginning of 2017.
