According to Joinfo.ua, the statement about the possibility of lifting the sanctions against Russia was made by Secretary of State John Kerry during his visit to London.
"I can say that Russia has made structural changes in recent days," said Kerry. Secretary of State reiterated that sanctions against the Russian Federation were aimed to explain Vladimir Putin that he can not continue to maintain the escalation of the conflict and support the militants in the east of Ukraine.
The Secretary General also commented on the reasons for the ruble fall. In his view, the fall of the Russian currency was triggered by several factors including oil prices decline.
John Kerry reiterated that the sanctions imposed by the West was not intended to hurt the Russians – the citizens of the Russian Federation are now facing the consequences of the Russian government's actions.
Earlier, it was reported that according to the press secretary of the White House Josh Ernest, President Barack Obama is ready to sign a bill passed by the Congress, which makes it possible to provide Ukraine with military aid and introduce new sanctions against Russia.
