John Tefft to represent U.S. at Putin’s parade

Despite the fact that the U.S. honors the memory of those killed in the war against Nazism, the level of representation of the United States at May 9 parade will be limited by the U.S. Ambassador to Russia, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Department of State.

This decision was caused by the actions of Russia in Ukraine, stressed the Foreign Ministry hoping that other countries would follow the example of the United States.

Earlier, we reported that the majority of European leaders refused to attend the Victory Parade in Moscow. These include President of Estonia Toomas Hendrik Ilves, President of Montenegro Filip Vujanovic, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, British Prime Minister David Cameron.

President Putin will hold the parade in the company of Czech President Milos Zeman, Prime Minister of Greece Alexis Tsipras, and President of North Korea Kim Jong-un.
