The US announced $15 million of humanitarian aid to Donbas, helping with households repair, water supplies and employment opportunities

The US announced the granting of almost $15 million of additional humanitarian aid for those affected by the conflict in the east of Ukraine, Joinfo.ua reports with the reference to the press service of the US embassy in Kiev.

This adds to the total amount of US humanitarian aid, which has reached $84 million.

According to them, funds will be used to provide temporary housing for more than 35 thousand people in the winter. In addition, part of the aid will go to the drinking water supply and compliance with hygiene standards.

“This assistance will provide employment opportunities to people and businesses back to normal life, and help to repair households,” – said the statement.

It should be recalled that earlier this month the U.S. Senate approved $300 million for military help to Ukraine from the new defense budget. The document does not require providing military assistance to Ukraine, however, the Minister of Defense has a right to use it in coordination with the State Department.
