President of Ukraine met with U.S. Vice President: formation of a new Ukraine’s government necessary for $1 bln loan
On March 31, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a working lunch meeting with the U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, and the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry participating.

The parties discussed the situation in Donbas in the context of Russian aggression. The U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry informed about peculiarities of the latest negotiations in Moscow. President Poroshenko stressed on the priority of fighting on corruption and establishing an effective anticorruption system, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to the Presidential press service.

The parties agreed that for the implementation of the political track of the Minsk agreements there is a need for Russia to implement security conditions.

Petro Poroshenko and Joseph Biden also talked about possibilities of bringing an international security mission in Donbas. The parties stressed on the necessity of freeing Nadiya Savchenko and urgent access of doctors to her.

Joe Biden assured of unchanging position of the U.S. on non-recognition of the occupation of Crimea.

Joe Biden also informed about the U.S. decision to provide additional 335 million U.S. dollars for reforms of the security sector of Ukraine, in particular of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.

The U.S. Vice President emphasized that the formation of a new government, oriented on reforms and cooperation with the IMF, opens possibilities for providing the third loan guarantee of 1 billion U.S. dollars, as well as for assistance of other international financial institutions.

The President of Ukraine stressed on the priority for the Ukrainian authorities to fighting on corruption and establishing an effective anticorruption system.

The parties agreed to keep developing the strategic partnership between Ukraine and the U.S., to which of contribution there will be a visit by the U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry to Ukraine in the nearest future.
