Elections in Ukraine: election campaign in Verkhovna Rada started

Elections in Ukraine: In spite of the political and economic difficulties in Ukraine, the election campaign in the Parliament began.

Elections in Ukraine

The special elections to the Parliament, where the President Petro Poroshenko do not want to see pro-Russian forces, are scheduled for October 26. Today, August 28, the campaign is officially started.

During these elections, 225 people's deputies will be elected by party lists. The same number will be elected by majority votes. There will be less elected representatives in the new parliament, since the election could not be held in the annexed Crimea. However, the inhabitants of the peninsula will be able to vote in the mainland Ukraine.

In addition, the migrants from the eastern regions of the country will be able to vote according to their place of residence. The Central Election Commission expressed the hope that the Parliament will be able to decide how the people living in the liberated territories of the ATO area are supposed to vote. Most likely, the district boundaries in the region will be changed.

Earlier Okhendovsky said that the Central Election Commission need about 980 million hryvnia to hold the early elections. He also noted that the budget does not include these expanses, so we need to use economy mechanisms.

In particular, it is possible to reduce the unsustainable expanses, if the parties refuse to finance their pre-election campaigning with the help of the state budget.
