According to the first results, the referendum in Scotland voted against independence from Britain with 53.8% of voters.

These official results are shown in 24 out of the 32 districts. Overall attendance in the 24 districts that have already provided data is 84.2%.

Scotland separation is supported by 1,115,074 people against 1,293,048 people who answered "No".

Interestingly, the voting results in Sterling and Falkirk, the scene of the legendary battle for Scotland independence under the leadership of William Wallace against the King of England Edward Longshanks, showed the desire of the Scots to stay with Britain.

In Sterling – 37153 for "No" (59.8%) and 25,010 for "Yes" (40.2%).

In Falkirk – 58,030 for "No" (53.5%) and 50,489 for "Yes" (46.5%).

The final results are expected to be announced after 8.30 a.m. by the local time.

By the way, Orkney Islands also showed voting results: 10,004 voted "No" and 4,883 "Yes".
