December 3 is the International Day of Persons with Disabilities established by the United Nations.
Disability Day is aimed at drawing attention to the problems of people with disabilities, protection of their dignity, rights and well-being.
On the occasion of this day in many countries there were held meetings, concerts, presentations and discussions. In the world there are about one billion people with disabilities. Nearly five million of them live in Poland.
Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz, who gave a lecture in one of the capital's schools on this occasion, stressed that the government would make efforts to help people with disabilities in the country.
