The citizens of Russia believe that their country should expand partnership with the Eurasian Economic Union and member countries of the BRICS in the first place. As for the Council of Europe and NATO, the Russians do not consider it necessary to maintain close relations with them, as evidenced by the latest opinion poll conducted by Russian Public Opinion Research Center, Joinfo.ua reports referring to the Russian media.
According to sociologists, the BRICS is a leader in the list of international organizations and associations the Russian Federation should increase cooperation with in the first place. It is an opinion of 54% of respondents. Other citizens of the Russian Federation prefer the Eurasian Economic Union (36%), but close partnership with the Council of Europe and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is supported only by 19% and 11% respectively.
Among other international organizations preferable by the survey participants and which are important for Russia are the Collective Security Treaty Organization (29%), the World Trade Organization (26%), the Group of Twenty (26%) and the Group of Seven (23% ).
