IMF Chief: Situation in Ukraine gives hope

Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, consideres the situation in Ukraine as encouraging.

Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, marked encouraging work of the Ukrainian government “in changing the face of the country” under the conditions of continuing aggression by the pro-Moscow occupants, Joinfo.ua reports.

The IMF chief said that bad credit history in Ukraine had given place to the long-awaited reforms and struggle against corruption, and one can talk about encouraging economic situation.

“The situation in Ukraine gives hope,” said Lagarde during an online conference.

Earlier, we reported that, despite the fact that the solution to the problems of restructuring the huge debts owed to private creditors is delayed, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine managed to agree upon international assistance with the IMF, the Government of Japan and the World Bank.
