The EU will start a visa-free regime for Ukraine from the middle of the next year, simultaneously with the one for Georgia, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to Deutsche Welle.

According to diplomatic sources in Brussels, on December 15 the European Commission will submit a report that will approvingly evaluate the process of the implementation of the conditions for the cancelation of visas by Kyiv and Tbilisi. Such an assessment should help the EU member states take an approval decision on the visa-free regime for the citizens of Georgia and Ukraine.

At the same time, according to Brussels, Kyiv will have to improve the work in some sectors, in particular in the fight against corruption by the spring of 2016.

The publication notes that a visa-free regime for Georgians and Ukrainians will imply permission to stay in the European Union within three months of 180 days period, but it does not provides work permission.

It should be recalled that last week the MEPs appealed to the leadership of the EU to provide Ukraine with a visa-free regime.
