National Bank of Ukraine presented a new 500 hryvnia banknote

The new banknote will be introduced into circulation on 11 April 2016 to improve the organization of cash circulation and to replace the worn, damaged and withdrawn banknotes, Joinfo.ua reports with reference to NBU.

Updating the nominal series of banknotes of the sample of 2003-2007 began in 2012 in accordance with articles 34 and 35 of the law of Ukraine “On the National Bank of Ukraine” and the Strategic program for improving of the cash circulation organization in Ukraine for 2013-2018.

500 hryvnia banknotes issued in 2006 and 2015 will stay in circulation simultaneously.
