Ukrainian central bank introduces into circulation new 500 hryvnia banknote

On Monday, the National Bank of Ukraine introduced into circulation a new 500 hryvnia banknote with enhanced security system, Joinfo.ua reports.

“On April 11, 2016, the National Bank of Ukraine will introduce into circulation a new 500 hryvnia banknote sample of 2015 with an advanced secutiry system”, – the report says.

The upgraded banknotes of 2015 will have the same dimensions. The color scheme has remained almost unchanged. All changes were made to the design and security features.

Also, the bill has an upgraded security system, which fully complies with international standards. For example, the banknote has optically variable security features that are identified when the banknote is viewed at different angles.

As it was reported earlier, 500 hryvnia banknotes issued in 2006 and 2015 will stay in circulation simultaneously.
