The flight PK661 of Pakistan International Airline (PIA), carrying around 40 people, was en route to Islamabad from Chitral when it lost contact with air traffic control, Joinfo.com reports with reference to the local media.
The plane has reportedly crashed in near the town of Havelian about 70 km from the capital Islamabad.
The police said that the locals saw the crashed plane which was on fire.
The police and rescue team were on the way to the site.
