WTA Brisbane: Ukrainian Elina Svitolina beats Angelique Kerber in quarterfinals
Ukrainian Elina Svitolina made her way to the semi-final winning a final set against German Angelique Kerber in Brisbane, Australia

The 22-year-old Ukrainian Elina Svitolina has won 6-4 3-6 6-3 in the quarterfinals against the world’s first racket Angelique Kerber of Germany, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Ukrainska Pravda.

It should be recalled that on her way to the semi-final Svitolina also won Rio de Janeiro Olympic champion Monica Puig of Puerto Rico.

Elina Svitolina takes the 14th place in WTA rankings currently. And today’s victory means that she will take a higher position and set a record for Ukraine in the WTA rankings.

In the semi-final Svitolina will play with Third seed Karolina Pliskova.
