Taiwan Open: Ukraine’s Svitolina To Play Peng In Final
Top-seeded Elina Svitolina was in first-class form advancing to the Taiwan Open final

Elina Svitolina of Ukraine stopped Mandy Minella, 6-3, 6-2, to advance to her first final since she fell to Petra Kvitova in the Zhuhai final last November, Joinfo.com reports with reference to Tennis Now.

A strong semifinal performance came the day after Svitolina fought off four match points in a 6-1, 3-6, 7-6 (4) triumph over Tunisian qualifier Ons Jabeur.

The 13th-ranked Svitolina raised her 2017 record to 9-2. She will play Peng Shuai in Sunday’s championship match.

Fresh off her run to the Australian Open doubles final, Peng defeated a familiar face, Lucie Safarova, 6-4, 6-2.

The 71st-ranked Chinese reached her first WTA final since she overcame Alison Riske to win the Tianjin title last October.
