Zuckerberg’s Manifesto: How Facebook CEO Plans to Save the World

Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg has planted his ideological flag in the ground, posting a 5,800-word essay to his social media site on Thursday, which details his broad plan for the future of, not only his company, but also the world, Joinfo.com reports with reference to The Wrap.

“In times like these, the most important thing we at Facebook can do is develop the social infrastructure to give people the power to build a global community that works for all of us,” Zuckerberg wrote.

While the Silicon Valley billionaire’s manifesto was in direct opposition to isolationist and nationalist policies and rhetoric espoused by the Trump administration, Zuckerberg didn’t name the president outright in the post.

He started out the the essay, titled, “Building Global Community,” emphasizing that “our greatest opportunities are now global — like spreading prosperity and freedom, promoting peace and understanding, lifting people out of poverty, and accelerating science.”

Zuckerberg laid out his plan to bring “us all together as a global community” in broad strokes, sharing bullet points on how Facebook can help contribute to five “important” questions, adding that it’s “a project bigger than any one organization or company.”
