According to WTA, the Ukrainian becomes the first player to ever win three Premier 5 titles in a season after the tier of events was introduced in 2009. She previously raised the trophies in Dubai and Rome, to go along with International-level titles in Taipei and Istanbul.
The 5th seed Elina Svitolina overpowered the former WTA World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-0 at the Rogers Cup in Toronto.

“I need some time still to really realize, because I had so many matches for the last two days and it’s been really, really tough physically,” the Ukrainian said after the match. “Today was very hot, so I’ve been really struggling. I’m just very happy that it’s finished – and with a title, it’s even more special.”
Svitolina won the last eight games of the match from 4-4 in the first set to raise her third Premier 5 trophy of the season, and fifth overall.
The 22-year-old Ukrainian earned $502,000 for the victory.
